Sextant removal is great, but new scarabs are just making the same mistake
By removing sextants, the game also gets rid of sextant rollers, bulk TFT sextant traders and tedious sextant management. But the new scarabs are just bringing back bulk TFT traders and more mess in the inventories. It also didn't solve problem where SSF players still resolve to pure luck when trying to do any sextant/new scarab based strats.
Suggestion: Remove all variants of scarabs from drops. Instead add a new currency that rolls base scarabs into different variants. Now you will say "that's just sextant reskinned!" No it is not. Sextants are bad because the pool was huge and no sane player reliably rolled what they needed on their own, which created a market for hideout warriors. Each scarab only has 2-3 variants, so it is very manageable to roll by self. I know some variants need to be gated by rarity. You can do this by either weighting the results, or gating them by another higher rarity rolling currency. But TBH, I really don't like the idea where you need some extreme luck before you even start farming the map with it. A better way could be variants are more or less on the same level of power, just with different focuses. Last bumped on Apr 8, 2024, 8:36:58 PM
