Soul Eater on Monsters

The change to Soul Eater has done something to its effect on Monsters.

In 8 years i have never "bricked" an encounter, but this league i have ruined 4 Harvests now because a soul eater rare becomes immortal due to a combination of extra life, regen, dmg reduction and/or constantly spawning other minions to feed off.

Even the normal map encounters have become much worse.

Soul Eater has always added additional endurance to monsters but it wasn't mentioned anywhere. This league I hoped they only added that description to actually make players aware that the buff adds more defense. Not to add even more. Can someone from GGG explain this? Can someone update the poewiki with the proper information about the buff?

Thanks.
You're supposed to kite this mob away from the pack so it doesn't get overbuffed. But this is almost impossible to do in POE mapping scenarios, where typical mapping builds just erase everything, often offscreen. I'm playing exsanguinate mines with 45% extra chaining range, I've been killing crap 2 screens away from my character. How i'm supposed to react to a soul eater affix? If there is one it's already too late, it's maxed on stacks and ready to raid my rear end.
One of them I ran into summoned more mobs in. The thing was literally immortal.
It's a shame, that a game dev company with some many years of experience thinks, that 90% dr mod or a complete immunity outside of a bubble is fun

It is mentioned in wiki and also in patch notes (like 2.X patch)

I generally like the recent change to Soul Eater, because it gives the player some agency against those mobs.

The only problem are encounters or monster types with endless monster spawns. In that instance u can't kite and wait for the stacks to diminish... I died a few times because of that in delve for example.
Blight is pretty bad aswell, because those monsters will just walk to ur pump and u can't do shit if u're not able to burst them before the stacks are getting too high.

In Harvest on the other side I don't see a problem.
the stack ever diminish?

yes, that's the change in 3.24. If the monster hasn't sucked up another soul in the last 4 seconds I believe, it will lose 1 stack every 0,5 seconds.

from the Patch Notes:

Player Balance
The Soul Eater buff has been reworked. There is now a maximum number of 45 souls that can be consumed, with each soul providing 5% increased Attack and Cast Speed. For monsters, this buff also provides 2% less Damage Taken per soul consumed. 1 soul is lost every 0.5 seconds if you have not gained any souls recently.
