I tried to keep with the coffin but it doesnt work if its placed. So just lose out on 3/4 and most likely some challenge? This is pretty lame if so.

There is a little shovel icon if you select the corpses in question you want to remove. Its not prominent or well explained.

There doesn't seem to be a challenge for which they are needed.

you can also just... move to a different section and use those empty graves to craft
corpses ONLY get used if theyre 'connected' / 'adjacent' to other corpses you can have multiple groups of crafts going on at once, as long as they dont touch. |
