Sextant/Compass-to-Veiled-Scarab replacement rate should match # of map applications

Currently, sextants and charged compasses apply their respective effects to multiple maps. For instance, an awakened sextant will automatically apply its effects to 3 (or 4) sequential maps. That makes 1 awakened sextant the equivalent of 3 (or 4) scarabs when considered from a standpoint of map applications, because a single scarab only applies its effect to a single map.

Currently, patch notes imply that each sextant and charged compass will be replaced with a single veiled scarab, with each veiled scarab converting to a single random scarab upon unveiling. This suggests that each awakened sextant and unused charged compass would lose a minimum of 67% value during this replacement process...a proposition that does not seem reasonable.

What would be more "fair" would be for each sextant and charged compass to be replaced with a number of veiled scarabs equal to the number of map applications it would normally have (or number of remaining map applications in the case of charged compasses)... For example, 1 awakened sextant should be replaced with, not 1, but 3 veiled scarabs, in order to avoid "switcheroo" value loss of significant proportion.

Sextants? Those are removed in 3.24

True...and that fact is the inspiration for the original post (more specifically, the proposed exchange for sextants which already exist). Sextants will be removed...and...existing ones will be replaced with veiled scarabs.

From the 3.24.0 patch notes: "Existing Awakened Sextants, Elevated Sextants, Charged Compasses, and all Scarabs will be converted to Veiled Scarabs upon logging in after the launch of 3.24.0".
