Defiance of Destiny amulet mechanic

Does amulet works with Slayer overleech?

Because being Slayer and leeching to full with positive life gain counts you as on Full life.
On Wiki page of the amulet it specifically says being on Full life means you have no missing life.

If you are at 57% life and you get hit by an enemy, you will heal for 25%-35% of your missing unreserved life.
In this scenario, lets say you have a 25% Defiance of Destiny.

You will heal for (100 - 57) * 0.25 = 10.75% life, before you take the damage from the hit.

This works regardless of you currently leeching or not, you will at all times heal for 25% of your MISSING unreserved life, before you take the damage, all happening in an instant.

Tnx. The whole "full life" condition while being Slayer was what was bothering me in this.
Think of Overleech as a "health buffer". If you have 3000 life & take a small hit, it will first eat in to the overleech, before your health pool.

So Defiance of Destiny will cover you in case you start to take a bunch of damage. Keep in mind, the amulet is not great against massive hits.

Yeah, it's not a one shot tanking item but is great for barrages.

Unless my understanding of this is wrong you shouldn't think of it like a buffer, it just means your leech instances aren't removed at full life so when you take damage you are immediately recovering at full rate rather than having to get your leech instances started again.

I don't really understand OP's question - if you are at full life you at full life what is defiance gonna recover? These two mechanics don't interact at all - if you weren't a slayer they would occasionally but for an overleech slayer they don't intersect.

that's what i wanted to be sure of
So.....I feel like a bunch of wrong things were said a bit in this thread.

Overleech is NOT a health buffer. It does NOT increase your hp pool in any way. If you have 3000 life, with 2000 overleech and you take a hit of 3001 damage....you die before leech regen takes effect.

The OPPOSITE is true of Defiance of Destiny. It IS somewhat a health buffer because it staggers the INCOMING damage. Of course, it only works when you are not at full life. Ex: if you have 1000 / 5000 life (35% DoD role) and you take a hit of 2000 damage, you HEAL .35 x 4000 (1400) life BEFORE you take the 2000 hit, allowing you to tank it when you normally wouldn't.

It is almost exactly the reverse of Overleech. Overleech = after damage, DoD = before damage.
