Bringing instant buyout to classic PoE

In the Q&A yesterday, I think that Mark said more than once that GGG uses leagues to try out ideas that may or may not make it into the core game. So...

Why not have a league that tries out instant buyouts, so GGG can know exactly what bad things will happen, if any?

Why not try out a one-month voided event with bind-on-purchase instant buyouts to see what bad things happen, if any? (Voided so GGG does not have to worry about account-bound items afterward.)

Why not try out instant buyouts where the seller does not receive their currency for 24 hours? A settlement period like that would also provide friction for pure currency exchanges.

(My personal wish, since I tend to prefer SSF would be to have Cadiro as a permanent merchant who offers fixed exchange rates for all the currencies, even if they aren't the greatest, so I finally could do something with the excess of chromatic orbs I always end up with.)

I like the idea, no way do they do this.
~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
Here is another idea they will never try:
Let us skip campaign on alts.
they are already planning this. It was mentioned in the POE2 podcasts series.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
In practice, there is.

Wasn't that only for PoE2, though? (With the need to find gold to provide friction for trading.) I saw that in the Zizaran interview.

Was there another episode where they talked about bringing it to classic PoE?

in that interview they said it would apply to POE1. something like players wont accept a game without it any longer.
But the way they said it, it may be delayed until after POE2 releases.

Yes, what Jonathan said (starting around 2:04:04) was:
"Well the problem with PoE1 is we don't have gold to be able to do that [to cause friction in the market]. I also wouldn't want to put something like this into PoE1. I would feel like it would be a dangerous idea to put this into PoE1 without testing in PoE2 first."

But now the PoE2 beta has been delayed, and Blizzard is finally waking up to the fact that PoE and Last Epoch exist. So I'd hope that GGG would consider doing something sooner.

And leagues are the mechanic that GGG uses to test out ideas.

thing is they said that players wouldnt accept it because of the advances made by le etc right?

but ive seen trade in le and its awful right? its a way worse system than poe already has imo.

Because LE trade hause lacks the most basic options. Its so bad I think they did on purpose to "balance trade power".

ya exactly, thats how it seems to me.

thats the same reason trade here is the way it is, but trade here is 10x better than LE, and trade in D4?

people actually use discords in D4. not as in theres a tft where these few things like mirror services and bulk selling sextants occur but then theres a whole trade system where you search for things on blizzards website and ping people... no, its trade chat right in game? and then people use 3rd party discords like tft just to be able to trade basic things in game in a more advanced way that trade chat offers.

and in both cases im fairly sure the devs will tell you that its for the good of the game not to make trade easier, and thats why trade is awful in those games.

ggg have said well other games are doing things so we know players will expect that now and not be ok with our trade system. ok, doing what exactly? what are these other games doing?

they look like a fking shit show to me, i think the D3 auction house is the only time weve had a more functional, 'easy' trade system in an arpg than the one we have in poe surely?

i dunno, i find the whole thing quite odd. i dont plan on using trade with the community at large in poe2, im gonna swap drops with friends i play with, when we play we play FFA loot and share drops. but my days of playing actual community trade are done, im never trading like that in poe2 so it doesnt effect me whatever they do with trade in that game. but it just seems weird and if i were them i would not be doing what theyre doing, maybe with bulk item exchange? even then, hmmmmmmmm tbh.

the way i would do it is that u list stuff for a gold fee and that means you dont have to deal with physically selling it but the person buying still has to zone to your hideout and complete the trade with a vendor bot.
