Back to Basics with Vaal Temple

Will "Back to Basics" Atlas Keynote remove Vaal Vessels from my Vaal Temple Map ?

side note, will this affect blight ravaged maps positively or negatively or have no effect? Sort of figured these two questions are pretty similar.

Atlas passives do not affect blight and blight ravaged maps.

Vaal Temple is not an Atlas map (it hasn't been on the Atlas for a few leagues), so it shouldn't affect it.

Vaal temple map is affected by your atlas passives, you can try it right now in affliction.

Also, you can use "Twist of Fate" passive, to roll Vaal Temple map into some other map with Vaal Vessels. With the new "1-3 additional random Map Modifiers", I think it's going to be very good in 3.24.

As the Vaal Vessel modifier on the map basetype is an implicit modifier, it is retained when the map is randomly rerolled using the Twist of Fate Atlas keystone[1]. This can be used to roll the map into layouts with better divination cards while still retaining the benefits of the strongboxes.

There's no way to test it because you can't block strongboxes at the moment. "Cannot appear" seems like it might brick it. There might be other potential farming methods with Vaal Temple with scarabs though.

Edit: No way to test if Back to Basics works. Atlas passives do work as post above says.

I stand corrected, thanks for that.

A point to note - are Vaal Vessels actually counted as strongboxes? Or do they have their own tag?

Even if they are not strongboxes, I think they still count as extra-content.
They definitely count as strongboxes, as rolling enraged or corrupted rare always effected them too.

Wiki also says "special strongbox versions of the vaal vessel", that caters to corrupted items
