Decent game but so many areas where it needs to be balanced/fixed plus the reward system could have been way better.
But if you're a star wars fan, it's a must buy. P.S. This should be an off-topic discussion subject. | |

i played it for 2 months, the story's and quest "text" (conversations) were awesome but the gameplay was exactly like WoW and there was not enough endgame content... imo gameplay for mmo's must change GW 2 looks interesting but i'm not sure if thats realy enough change from the mind numbing hotkey based mmo's.

" Felt similarly. I played through the Agent story line and was awestruck at first. It's really good and entertaining in that regard. It fails, however, when it comes to long-term goals: - The planets, once "quested through", are lifeless bar one or two jump-and-run holocron 'puzzles'. The engine is not equipped to handle precise jumping, however. - The endgame consists of nothing but the tired old grind that WoW exemplified: Grind for gear, grind for badges, grind for money. Or your legacy. - Playing alts is boring, since you visit the exact same planets again, and 80% of quests are the same. Nope, not even switching factions helps overly much. - The engine is really the limiting factor for a lot of things. It's not really performing well (they had to disable high-res textures altogether at launch), and it has immense loading times, it has lots of loading, especially if you want to switch planets. To top it off, there apparently are limitations on the engine that are frankly ludicrous: You cannot freely control the camera while running - it will always pivot behind your character as soon as you move. Anyhow: It's definitely fun on a playthrough, and it offers a LOT of game. But as an MMO, it's a failure, sad to say. 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.

something I forgot to say in my first post was that the on rail air combat was fun... but it gave way to much xp and after doing it a few times i leveled 2 times so my quests got even easier than they already were.
@Avireyn, did you play empire? what did you think about the flashpoints? \,,/__(O___o)__\,,/

" Aye, played Empire. To the ground with them Republic nastywords! Overall, I liked the flashpoints, but I tihnk this was mostly because I was on Vent with my (RL) gaming buddies, and we commented a lot on the conversations: "Why do you even ask me if I want to kill him? My second name would be 'Shocking' if I had one!" "What, your name is John Shocking Edward?" "Quiet, fool! Or I will overload your puny microphone, and we'll see how you mock me then!" Ahem. Well, I have to say that I liked the first flashpoint most of all (Black Talon), it really shows off what a good instance can be like. Especially since it plays different depending on which answers you choose. The others I found to be pretty "Meh", to be honest (I didn't play them all, though). They're mostly pretty straightforward. And you have too make sure you get people who "play your way" if you run them. There are really many "spacers" out there who just want to get through all the conversations as fast as possible. Which is understandable if you've done them more than twice. But for someone playing them the first time, it really destroys the atmosphere if you just skip them. 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.
