Curses on hit and mines
|
If I remember correctly, before curses from a hit were not applied through mines, now this has been changed and it’s great. Apparently not all mechanics took these changes into account.
Actually the bug: 1. Take gloves/ring with an affix curse on hit. 2. Take a weapon with an affix for explode killed monsters. 3. You kill a mob with a mine - there is a detonation, there is damage/hit on surrounding mobs, but curses from the hit are not applied to them. 4. You kill a mob NOT with a mine - everything works as expected, i.e. the explosion curses surrounding mobs. The bug is well tracked by the "Hexblast" skill stone due to the area damage mechanics, which only works on the cursed target. Last bumped on Mar 30, 2024, 8:02:18 AM

This is a consequence of the way mines (and other proxies) work. They are separate entities that use your skill. They have own stats but since the skill is yours, it checks your appropriate stats to apply. |It's probably worth to note that Enemies Killed with Attack or Spell Hits Explode, dealing 5% of their Life as Fire Damage stat is appropriate while many other explosions are not (unless they specify proxies like Chieftain's Hinekora).|
So the skill sees that you have a hex on hit stat, an explosion stat and applies them. The skill is used, now it comes to explosion to apply stats. Whose stats will it check? Explosions are not skills and this explosion is caused by a mine, so it checks the mine's stats. Mines don't have hex on hit and your other stats -> no hex on exlplosions hits. |
