Suggestion: Passive Tree Bounding Reward
|
Context:
When I'm fine tuning a build, often I look for anywhere that loops (or "bounded regions") occur, with the intent to see how I can rework that area to get similar stats with less passive points spent. With the addition of "the Adorned" unique jewel, many endgame passive trees seem to avoid most passives and invest only in "travel nodes" to jewel sockets. "Split Personality" is another example of a jewel rewarding long snaking passive trees. How can we reward "non-snaking" passive trees? Idea: What if there was a reward for leaving loops (or "bounded regions") in? My initial thought is to assign bounded regions colors/factions, and give rewards based on "passive points spent on looping regions". Bonus idea, if a region is bounded and points are given to THAT color/faction, also reward points spent IN that bounded region. ![]() Direct example: In the above example, the player has successfully bounded the brown region. This should award them 7 "brown points" for the passive points spent on the exterior of the loop, and a further 4 "brown points" for the passives spent in the Tribal fury cluster in the bottom of the region. Indirect Example: The blue region would award a minimum of 7 "blue points" for the 6 strength nodes and 1 intelligence node required to bound the region. Reward Suggestions: (where X = number of points in that particular color/faction) - Mini Petrified blood: "When taking Damage from Hits, (X/2)% of Life loss below half Life is Prevented, then Life loss prevented this way is lost over 4 seconds" - Mini Mind Over Matter: "X/2% of Damage is taken from Mana before Life" - Mini Tailwind: "X/5% increased action speed" - Outgoing Damage Conversion: "X% of Y damage converted to Z damage" - Regeneration Stuff: "5*X Life, Energy Shield, and Mana regenerated per second" I feel that these are allowed to be a little overpowered, but that could be adjusted based on how many different color/faction options there are. It would likely be difficult for a build to capture more than 2 bounded regions of the same color/faction, due to the opportunity cost of where those extra passives could be assigned. " looks like a headache to program XD would be easier to add a jewel with a powerful mod that weakens the further you move away from it say: limit: 1 Radius: entire skill tree jewel will have a random mod from a pool of mods 500% increased Effect of mod 1% reduced effect of mod per "x" distance between the jewel and the further away allocated node. self found league fan
