Basic crafting help needed

Probably easy question for you guys,
I found the below boots which had +30% movement speed. I turned them into rare item and they only got +65 max life. Using bench I added fire and lightning res as need it at the moment. Questions:
1. Can I gem more max life on them?
2. How can I get more different mods without losing existing ones? My bench only gives me option to replace rather than craft.



Also, if it easier/cheaper to start from scratch, how would I make boots with:
1. 100+ max life
2. +30% or more movement speed
3. Some elemental resistances
4. Spell suppression

The whole crafting is a mystery to me and I read few guides and still are no smarter.

As a player who learned PoE crafting finally in 3.23, I can give you a bit of perspective and tips but I am not an expert.

Firstly you need to familiarize yourself with craftofexile.com. This website will let you see all of the available mods for specific items in PoE. In addition, you can also use the "emulator" to simulate crafts on items, so you can experiment and learn there without using in-game currency.

Start there, try some crafts, and if there are specific parts of a craft that you dont understand do a google/youtube search for that and 9/10 you can find the information you need.

Finally, understand that every craft is different, meaning even if you and I were to both craft those same boots you want, we would use a similar structure for our craft, but the exact methodology would change on a case-to-case basis depending on what open affixes you still have and which mods you are still looking to add to the item.

As far as your boots go, you say you want life, movement speed, ele res, and spell suppress. Do you know which of those mods are suffixes or prefixes? That is key information to have in order to plan your craft. In this specific instance, I would say getting all 4 of those mods on a boot through crafting is possible, but getting high tier rolls for all of those things is, for better or worse, entirely luck-based in PoE.

As a rough blueprint for your craft, I would say start with the boots with fractured spell suppression as that modifier is probably the most difficult to achieve with the crafting methods I am familiar with, and you really want a tier 1 roll for that mod. From there you can do a number of things depending on your currency, and depending on what modifiers you value you the most. You absolutely need top tier life? Use life essences till you hit life/move speed. You want guaranteed move speed? Use the movement speed essence or maybe use some veiled chaos as that can unlock the possibility for 2 movement speed mods on the item.

Thanks. I played a little bit with it and got not too bad boots. Not spell suppression or high max life but not bad for first try. Saw that crafting website yesterday but still figurying it out how to use it.
