farming uber shaper alone is good idea?

Hi, I farmed 100 uber shapers and only got 2 sublime-jewel [50c!, 100c!].


I want to see if uber shaper is bad farming or farming only uber shaper is wrong? And should I combine with another boss or something? I want to see why I am not getting anything and how to fix it.

This situation is not funny at all, others earn 100 divines per hour and I... nothing!

The wiki says the sublime drop-rate is 4% so on average 25map I should get 1 jewel and on 100map, 4 jewel! > But it seems that drop-rate is 2% [ ea 50 map = 1 jewel ]

there is another problem too, most jewels worth nothing, only 2 jewel worth! [ 2 / 14 ! ]:
Purity of Fire: 300-400d
Hatred : 30-60d
others [12 jewel] : 50c - 2d

First off, the POE subreddit isn't related to or moderated by GGG in any way. So complaining to GGG about anything related to that is barking up the wrong tree.

As for your question. Uber bosses, and i mean all of them, have extremely high variance in their rewards. They usually have 1 valuable drop with 1% drop chance or like in this case 4% but most versions are worthless. If you are looking for constant income, farm something else, not bosses. You can run hundreds of maps without getting anything to even cover your investment and then drop a bunch of 100+ div uniques one after another. RNG is a bitch and unpredictable. 4% on average doesn't mean you'll get 4 per hundred attemps, it means if you run millions of them then the chance for one to drop will approach 4%.

I've run somewhere between 100 and 200 uber shapers and lucked out with a hatred sublime vision among the 3 or 4 that dropped but that's not something you can rely on.

If you want to farm uber bosses do it in masses, not 100, try a thousand or more. The chances of getting something good out of it really are that low but that is exactly what makes those items so valuable.

Shaper is profitable even if you ignore all the loot and just care about the fragment drop since there's a high demand for them in bulk. At that point it comes down to speed and only speed. If your character isn't that fast you might be better off including the other bosses for a full feared run preferably with as many ubers as possible.

The drop rates on the wiki are only estimates and therefor generally not fully correct. 2% for Sublime Vision is more accurate and also in line with similar items like Rational Doctrine from Cortex.

You can try to circumvent the pricing issue with Sublime Vision by selling them unidentified similar to Watcher's Eyes as this removes the RNG factor for you. Do note that the market for unid Sublime Visions moves slower than Watcher's Eyes.
