Moving while using skills.
I find it quite frustrating to have to stand still to use a skill, it breaks the flow of the combat. Is it possible to implement the ability to use skills while moving, or that when you use the ability it will stop your character briefly and use it then carry on?

It is not possible in the current engine, and it would require a massive art rework on the animations (since now the lower torso has to be detached) even if it were.
Personally I think that "shooting while moving" tends to look terrible in other games. As for the suggestion of a bound skill not stopping your movement, that's fairly interesting. (Example would be having a nova bound to Q, then you lclick somewhere, Q as you're passing by, and continue to move after the animation finishes as normal. Doesn't work on attacks that you have to "target" with, though.) Last edited by pneuma#0134 on Jun 8, 2012, 7:43:48 PM

You can't perform more than 1 action at a time. That's the way they made the game engine, for whatever reason. That includes moving, casting, and attacking.

There's lots of movement that might be to your liking, whirling blades, leap slam, flicker, etc.
Or maybe try some cast speed reduction. Time is a currency in battle, just like attention, and other things that aren't so obvious. You have to spend it wisely, and not being able to move while casting a spell pushes that harder. |

Alright, thanks guys. Still an amazing game none the less. :D

EDIT: Huh, interesting. I was totally replying to another thread and it ended up in this one instead. Admittedly, I had it open. I might just be stupid. Sorry.

Moved my slightly off-topic post about clunky animation timing to a new thread instead

Sounds like you have an issue with the animation timing, not necessarily moving while using skills.

" You are right. My bad. My coffee hadn't yet kicked in when I wrote that. |

You might want to edit the first post to clarify this now that we've found out what the real issue is. I think you will find that a lot more people agree with you.
