Cast while Channeling in The Squire

Steps to reproduce:
-A channeling skill (incinerate in my case) on my main hand weapon.
-The Squire with a socketed Awakened/regular CWC to support the channeling skill
-A spell to trigger inside The Squire
-Cast the channeling spell

Potential Bug:
-Spell socketed to the shield does not trigger

Testing:
-Switching the triggered spell from The Squire to the main hand causes it to trigger

Judging by the wording of The Squire, the CWC inside the shield should support the triggered spell (which is also inside the shield) and "also" the channeling spell on my main hand. The game doesn't think the channeled skill and the triggered spell are on the same link. The support gem green text says "Must support a channeling skill and a non-channeling spell skill to work.". It does not say "Must support a channeling skill LINKED WITH a non-channeling spell skill to work.".



The tooltip wording of the modifier, on the other hand, is different than the modifier listed under the support gem. It clearly states that the skill triggers a linked spell. This has led me to confusion.



Any thoughts?

TL;DR:

The CWC support gem's wording implies that the gem only needs to support both skills, whereas the tooltip wording implies that the channeling and the triggered skills need to be linked.
