How much dps is enough these days?
So, how much dps is considered to be enough to clear all content these days?
I've heard some youtubers say something like "this is low dps" to a 250mil dps build and that got me questioning things since to me it feels like 20-30mil is already quite overkill? 250mil dps is overkill. Anyone saying that it's "low dps" is probably comparing it to billions of dps you can put out with some setups.
20-30 can do most things quite comfortably. Might have problems with ubers though. But normal pinnacle bosses that should be enough. |

A balanced build with solid defense can do all content including simu and ubers on ~30 mio dps just fine. You only "need" 100 mio+ if you want to onetap uber bosses.
If you are fine with just mapping and pinnacles ~5 mio is already plenty. Minimum DPS i'd say is 1,5 -2 mio. Playing a build with less than that won't be fun. |

If you had asked this question in another league Id say 10 million would feel decent enough.
but if you actually want to engage with the wisps properly. you that really doesn't feel good till 30 - 50 million dps. The wisps simply interact with too many mods to make damage spounges Heal nearby allies soul eater life regen possessed by a tormented spirit essences The wrong combo of these things with wisps will create a creature that can out regen well over 30 million dps. And that is not even with a high amount of wisps. like 4k will see creatures like this. This is not even considering ones with 200k pdps corrupting blood degen that flash liquifies you instantly |

I have made plenty of 2-5 million dps builds that do fine in all content. No ubers, but that's just because I have no interest.
DPS isn't required for anything without a timer, really. It is your defenses and your skill that matter more. DPS only speeds things along, but if you aren't worried about going as fast as possible....you can do just fine on a sub-million build, and even clear maps with decent speed. People do it all the time with meme builds! Regen can be turned completely off with masteries, frost bomb, and pantheon if that is a real concern. It's equally important when considering dps to also consider dps uptime. I used to play totems a lot, which have 100% damage uptime, so 10MM for me in a boss fight might be like 40MM for you if you're playing melee for example.

"Never met such a mob. Or are you implying that wisp empowerment increases corrupting blood damage? (In the wiki the only damage increase is due to more crit which shouldnt affect corrupting blood.) No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

This league, if you want maximum loot from your maps, you don't want hundreds of millions dps. The abyss spire does not have that much hp, and if you kill it instantly you'll miss a lot of loot.
Anything between 5mil - 10mil dps is fine for mapping in my opinion. I have less then that and still do ok. |
