Barrage Of Volly Fire + "Barrage has no spread" = Working as intended? (Not working!)
Hello!
Just wanted to bring to light that this might be a bug? Barrage of Volley Fire is not interacting with the "That which was taken" Effect of "Barrage has no spread" Hopefully this can be a valid interaction and bring it up to speed in competing with other single target dps builds. Thanks for your time!! Last bumped on Jan 6, 2024, 1:29:09 AM

Bumping, just incase ;)
Would love to see Barrage of Volley fire be able to contend with the other top builds! I LOVE this ability! |

How would this help it "contend"? The volley shots are considered the same as the main projectile they're fired with. Even if they all fired in the same direction, only one of them would hit.
Barrage circumvents this behavior by firing the projectiles in sequence. Barrage of Volley Fire allows the skill to fire additional projectiles simutaneously on the first and last shots, but those projectiles would still follow the normal rules for projectiles fired simutaneously and not shotgun the target. |

Weird, I haven't noticed this in practice - Maybe I'm wrong but my PoB also doesn't seem to be calculating it as such?
I stand on top of a boss and hold it down and it does seem to shot-gun for massive damage. Are you sure each projectile isn't individually doing it's damage? PoB seems to be calculating it as such too! If "barrage has no spread" worked - wouldn't it just make a solid line of X Arrows - where as each would hit? Adding in "Projectiles return" - Wouldn't it then have ALL projectiles return and hit?? Add in - Anointment: Projectiles return at 150% more speed + Changes to proj speed increase damage" - I'd imagine it would be pretty fierce but I might be wrong? Some clarification would be nice! |

Two images from a brief test, using Ancestral Bond to deal no damage to the enemy. First image is normal Barrage, standing at a distance to show that the boss is intercepting all arrows. I'm not using Resolute Technique, but I have more than enough accuracy for 100% hit chance in Act 1. All of the arrows are hitting because they are not releasing at the same time, but sequentually. I also don't have any chain, pierce, or fork. Second image is using Barrage of Volley Fire (0% quality, 6 additional projectiles), standing as close to the enemy as possible to make it clear the arrows that aren't hitting aren't just too far to the side to hit. I raised my display resolution for the second screenshot so that it's easier to see the arrows that didn't hit. In the last volley before the screenshot, you can clearly count the 6 arrows that did not hit the enemy. Standing on top of a boss will get you the most value out of Point Blank, and Barrage of Volley Fire's normal projectiles will shotgun because they don't release simutaneously. The additional projectiles that fire together with the first and last arrow will not shotgun, however. |

What a thoughtful response - I really appreciate you takin the time to test this so well and share screen shots!
Appreciate it! |
