RF and ignites

At the moment im leveling an ignite build with firestorm of meteor and have fun with it. In path of building i tried to enable RF to take a look if something changes and nothing happened with the ignite values. So i have done a litte bit research and have read that more spell damage doesnt affect ignite or the base damage of the spell, ignite uses. So at the end RF is useless for me, but i still have a question i didnt found an answer.

Is it possible to ignite the enemy while he is staying in a RF aura? Both is burning damage, but what happens then? Does it overwrite each other? If it would both work at the same time, then i could additionally run RF in my setup.

Enemy can be affected by both ignite and rf at same time.
Burning damage is different from ignite. Ignites are considered burning damage, but not all forms of burning damage are ignites. While it's correct only damage from the largest ignite will be in effect, rf is not an ignite, it is just burning damage, so the damage can stack together. I'm currently playing rf/fire trap, Firetrap does burning damage and can also can ignite from hit damage, both work together and also stack with rf.

In POB, ignite damage should not be changed because rf is not igniting and as you said, the more spell dmg will not apply to ignite dmg. Your full dps should be increasing though when you have both skills selected for full damage and also should be getting a buff to the spell dmg of firestorm of meteors.
