Molten Strike attacks only twice with multistrike

With molten strike linked to both regular multistrike and awakened multistrike, I am attacking twice per skill use. Swap to frostblades, and character attacks three/four times as expected.

Multistrike works as expected from what I can tell. However, from testing it out, I can see where the error in judgment comes from: the way the animations flow.

For Frost Blades, the animation for each attack is the same. Using Multistrike, it's easy to see the animation play out 3 times.

For Molten Strike, the animation comes out in an alternating 1-2 pattern. The weapon is first swung from the upper right to the lower left, then from the upper left to the lower right. With Multistrike, from a neutral animation, you would see a 1-2-1 pattern; with Awakened Multistrike, you'd see 1-2-1-2.

If you're only looking for animation repeating, it looks like the full animation plays out twice...but the 'full animation' is two attacks.

Try swinging Molten Strike with and without Multistrike to see it for yourself.
I see what you're saying with the animations, and confirm this is correct. The character is indeed attacking in a 1212 animation with awakened multistrike.

With that said, my molten strike + awakened multistrike also appears to only generate two sets of magma balls per button press. While the attacks are very fast and it's hard to be positive, I took a video last night and slowed it down considerably, and could consistently only see two distinct sets of magma balls.

Are you seeing anything similar?

Something similar, but it feels like it might be the client keeping to its tick rate while trying to separately keep to the weapon's attack rate.

Tested with Multistrike; instead of the attacks being evenly spaced out, there is a rhythm to them. The first and second attacks had almost no time between them, while there was a noticible gap between the second and third. And, if I timed the start of a second multistrike afterwards, because it does continues the pattern, there's a gap between the first and second, and nearly no gap between the second and third.

Equipping a very slow weapon (Trypanon put me at 0.6s attack time), the gaps between every hit were very distinguishable. Even on a relatively slow weapon (Driftwood Sceptre put me at 0.31s attack time), I was hearing the shorter gaps between attacks more than seeing them.

If you're using video to verify, rather than looking for sets of magma balls, it might be more helpful to count the number of magma balls in each distinct set and compare to the number that should be fired on hit.
