Has the Tainted orb of fusing been nerfed?

I have in previous leagues occasionally been using tainted orbs of fusing to link my corrupted 4 by 2 or 5 linked chest pieces. The max I have ever used is 8 on a single piece. However, this league I have been attempting to link my Fourth Vow. I am now on my 25th tainted orb in a row which has removed a link. According the wiki, it is stated "The chance to add a link is approximately 50%" if this is true, the likelihood of hitting 25 negative outcomes in a row is 0.00000298%. This leads me to question if the orb of fusing has been nerfed?

Has anyone else experienced an overwhelming amount of negative outcomes for Tainted orbs of fusing in affliction league? Or, am I just rolling down an untrodden path of probability?

I'll use this as an experiment and see just how low I can get that probability number now.

I've currently spent 2 div worth of tainted fusings on a 6 link unique body armor. Still no luck, keep going back to 2 linked. Highest has been 4 links... ;_;

Seems a lot worse than last league.

I don't have empirical data but something DEFINITELY feels off.

Use crafting bench to get a 6 socket 4link + 2 link. Apply tainted fusing. If it goes 5 link, tainted again. If it goes less, recraft with bench back to 4link + 2 link. haven't had any issues with them this league.

Not to be rude but I kind of doubt you have used any this league. A couple tainted fusings could pay for your whole character from what I see on your profile.

Turns out I'm an idiot, didn't know you could benchcraft corrupted items ;) 2 div worth learning experience I guess..

This is what I did, I ended up spending 31 fusings, every single time I went from a 4-2 to a 3 - 2. After 31 I just didn't bother anymore, and grinded currency to buy a 6 linked for 6 div...
