Carrion Golem of hordes needs review by GGG
The addition of the hordes variant for golems seems to have completely messed up the carrion golem, and needs revisiting / updating from GGG
It seems that the intent of the “of hordes” gems was to combat the anima stone nerf…and splitting golem runners into either more golems for dps or players who want the buff effects. With that the of hordes balance by removing buff effects seems fair. However it seems the carrion golem was done with massive oversight by removing the intrinsic property of the golem to gain damage for non minions nearbye. That was totally separate from the golem buffing nearbye allies If you read the text from the normal carrion golem it also would indicate the *buff* is adding physical damage to nearbye allies…while inherently gaining power for nearbye allies “Summons a Carrion Golem that grants added physical damage for your non-golem minions” - that’s the buff “The Carrion Golem attacks with a series of slashes that increase in speed and damage, as well as a cascade of bone spikes, and deals more damage for each of your non-golem minions near it” - that’s inherit to the golem In the current state, if a golem DPS build uses of hordes to combat the anima stone nerf, they are punished by a massive DPS loss from the removal of the intrinsic property of the golem being removed Hopefully GGG will be addressing this soon Last bumped on Mar 13, 2024, 11:06:05 AM

Bump - Completely agree! I came here to write the same kind of post. There has been a huge oversight here, I've had to use the normal version of the gem because the hordes version doesn't apply any buffs.
Effectively, at this moment in time, GGG have removed a golem for us and nerfed carrion golemancers big time. |

the anima stone nerf is one of the stupidest things ggg has done in the last years. buff based golemancer got a massive nerf for no effin reason, out of nowhere. it wasn't even a popular thing

I BELIEVE the thought process revolved around the "increased CD recovery" buff unique to CGoH. With 40% increased cooldown recovery on quality, it is already dealing damage way faster than the base carrion golem did.
Original Carrion = Bigger single hits New Carrion = smaller single hits, but more hits. Overall still a nerf, but not nearly as big as you think it is. Not saying I like it, but just pointing that out. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Mar 13, 2024, 11:06:59 AM
