Tainted fusing both added and removed link

I had a 4L-2L on my 6 socket body.
The tainted fusing says
"
Unpredictably adds or removes a link to the largest group of linked sockets on a corrupted item

But what it really did was:
1. Added a link to the largest group (the 4L)
2. Removed a link (the 2L)

Based on the description it should have became either
- 6L
- 3L-1L-2L
The outcome of a 5L from my starting point should not have been possible.

The description should be improved so that it better describes reality or the bug should be fixed. Either way, it's either a bug in the description, or a bug in the mechanic.

Starting point

Result & fusing description

Not sure if it a bug or not never play with them but... You could also read that adding a link to the 4 link one, make it a 5link breaking the 2 link under to "force" the 5link, effectively adding *1 Link* to it like the description said.
Technically if it combine it would add 2 links to it.

Unless someone can confirm I'm wrong and it would combine both link to create a 6 link usually.

I understand where you're coming from in this, but I don't agree, it still removes a link by doing so.

Then the description should be like "Transforms the links of the item to the links of the largest group plus or minus one link".
Works as intended

Your comment don't make sense, it adds zero value to this topic
Adding a (one) link to the largest group - 4-link to 5-link, not connect 4-link+2-link.
Link means connected socket, not a dash between sockets.

What your proposing is exactly the same thing but using different word. It not even a clarification, it mean exactly the same thing as what already describe, add or remove a link from the largest group. With the explanation you just given someone could misunderstand the same way you misunderstood the current description.

"Overall event if it short, work as intended mean it not a bug."
Guy just confirm you it "Working as intended, not a bug, he adding value by confirming it not a bug...

Maybe change it to add/remove a "linked socket" would make it more clear.
But that would imply modifying everything that has similar wording.

As I mentioned in my post, either the mechanic should be changed or the description should be fixed. So yes, "using different word" would fit under the part "fixing the description".

I don't know why, but in PoE nobody seem to care about making the game easy to understand. It seems to me like the players all want the descriptions to be bad and unclear so people have to learn things the hard way. Why is that?

Anything that has a bad wording should be improved, yes correct. That's what it means to improve things.
