Phasing on kill tincture mod not working with poison damage over time kills

Phasing on kill tincture mod does not give phasing on poison damage over time kills (with poison ballistas using caustic arrow) (that should count as the player's), while sharing the same wording as the points on the passive tree leading to Freedom of Movement, which does work with poison damage over time kills.

Let’s make an item that will be designed specifically to be used for poison builds or ignite builds or bleed builds, but let’s not allow those dots to count for kills! Genius!

Ballistas are still "using" your weapon though? If your logic made sense then the "all damage can poison" tincture implicit wouldn't work for my ballistas either, yet it does, so by this logic the tincture's affixes should also apply, not just the implicit, don't see why they shouldn't.

Edit: I was under the impression that this phasing wasn't being activated because I was using ballista totems, now I see what you mean, the tincture mod disregards dot kills as a whole (only killing hits count), which seems even dumber to me. Why are they also adding difference in wording for the onslaught and phasing mod on the tinctures if they work the same? The onslaught one says "on killing blow", yet the phasing one says "on kill" (which implies dot would count too) but still works like "on killing blow". Overall seems like messy wording and consistency to me.
Charms are absolutely busted yet tincture affixes are extremely underwhelming and with some of them not even working for dot builds despite the implicit being for dot builds, what's the idea here? Seems really weird, stupid even.
