Earthbreaker Support activates wrong skill

I have the Earthbreaker Support gem attached to the Leap Slam gem, but when I try to use it, it instead activates the Ancestral Protector skill. Even after I removed the Ancestral Protector gem from my gear, it still uses that skill. I even tried it with the Earthshatter skill, and the same thing happened.

Earthbreaker Support is not activating Ancestral Protector.
However, Earthbreaker Support does cause the supported skill to be used by an ancestral totem, similar to how Ballista Support causes bow skills to be used by ballista totems. |

Earthbreaker Support - Supports slam skills, causing them to summon an ancestor totem that uses the skill for you while you're near it.
