Poet's Pen does not recognize Power Siphon as "attack with this Weapon"

Attacking with Power Siphon does not activate the "Trigger a socketed Spell when you attack with with this weapon".
The character still raises their hand aka. does the attack animation but nothing happens. The Spells in Poet's pen are only getting triggered when there are enemies nearby that make you create a projectile. Looking at the other wand skills they all say something like "Fires a Projectile from a Wand..." Compared that to Power Siphon "Fires your Wand to fire a single projectile each at a number of nearby enemies." Looking at that description, the animation of raising the wand, is the "Fires your Wand". That is already you attacking with the Wand. You are literally performing the attack with animation and inability to move and everything. So either is should trigger the spells, since you are attacking. Or if you press the power siphon button and no enemies are nearby, then you just keep moving without doing any animation, since you are not attacking. Edit1: The character is performing the casting animation as if you use "Storm call" rather than the "Barrage"/"Power Siphon" animation, which is probably related. Edit2: This seems to be a related issue: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3436136 New Power Siphon now just acts like Vaal Power Siphon now. With all the same issues/bugs regarding Poet's Pen and barrage support. This also explains the animation, since Vaal Power Siphon has the same animation like casting Storm Call. Can I get a clarification if this is considered a bug or if the new Power Siphon is supposed to be dysfunctional with Poet's Pen.

I just discovered this issue while playing. My Power Siphon doesn't even do anything at all. The animation just tries to cast a spell instead of animation of attack like in KB.

Yeah, barrage support on power siphon is broken now. Whenever I try to 'attack' with power siphon, my character is waving the wand like crazy but no projectiles are being fired
