Minions are cool, but infuriatingly squishy, even at very high investment.

I am someone who loves minion builds, but in the last few leagues, especially this league, I honestly am at a point where I will likely never touch minions again. The lack of survivability on minions is just sad at this point and gets far worse once the league mechanic gets involved.
Even when you're fully invested in minions survivability, all it takes is for a rare to get that little bit of juice from the league mechanic and goodbye spectres and ag. I have watched a blight map crash me out of a raw HH drop in the last few leagues and not even that frustrated me nearly as much as trying to play minions this league has. Please GGG, for the love of everything that is worht a damn in this world, give minions some ACTUAL defensive value. Sure, they do a decent amount of damage, but there really isn't any point with the way this league is balanced since they can't deal damage when they are dead. Last bumped on Dec 11, 2023, 6:15:45 AM

I haven't really feelt them being more squishy since that last big nerf quite a few leagues back.
Last league, my minions were tankier then ever. Things I like to pick up for my minions (defensively): Bone Offering (if I can use it on auto-cast wand) Block nodes (30&) Regen nodes (around 5%) Reduced phys nodes Hax out elemental resists with jewels and Purity aura (only 1 boss in the game gives my minions trouble with lacking Chaos resists) and ofc some HP nodes (around 75-100%). |

Honestly speaking, the main thing that makes it so infuriating the play minions is the lack of information.
This brings me to a much bigger point that I honestly have been frustrated about for a very long time: >>[Lack of clarity]<<. Even with PoB, there is unfortunately no way of knowing what is actually at play other than the extremely obvious stats and effects. Honestly tired of playing a damn guessing game every time I wanna play minions. The game already knows how much hp the minion has, as well as all the other stats applicable to said minion, so I know for a fact it is possible to compile that information into a coherent tooltip. That right there would help so many people get better at the game from an understanding perspective. Hopefully now that PoE 2 has slowed down on the frind train, maybe we will get some actual tooltips for skills in general rather than needing to go to PoB and get a PHD in astrophysics to piece it all together. Don't get me wrong. PoB is great for build creation in general, but having it be a requirement just to understand the game's basics really shouldn't be where it's at. |

the thing i dont get is the oath breaker, i want to play that ascendancy but i simply cant wrap my head around making a necromancer have enough life/regen survivability to even start to make that work if any one out there has a idea how to make that ascend work please let me know

You can find in PoB infos under/at "calc" about each minion which you select as "main skill".
life resi to hit chance and some others. There's a checkbox to toggle this data between your character and the selected minion. As I noticed after updating PoB there are many infos under "tree" too.
