Bug in Evasion and Energy Shield Mastery (with Eldritch Battery)
|
I am running a Pathfinder build using Eldritch Battery. As part of my build, I am buffing my energy shield and evasion using Evasion and Energy Shield Mastery and specifically the option:
"100% increased evasion if energy shield recharge has started within the past 2 seconds" I cast a spell, which draws from my energy shield, which immediately begins recharging. I watch my Evasion Rating, and it does not change at all when I cast the spell and shield begins recharging. Last bumped on Nov 28, 2023, 5:15:29 PM

" Which immediately continues recharging. Energy Shield Recharge does not stop just because your Energy Shield is full. It stops when it prevents damage. Energy Shield Recharge is considered to "start" when it reactivates after being stopped by damage. |

Thank you for your reply, but I feel like this distinction is a bit deceptive. You suggest that the energy shield is "continuing to recharge" even while full??
" Why don't you change the text of the passive skill point that I am writing about to read: "100% increased evasion if the energy shield has reactivated after stopping damage" Either way, this does not work with Eldritch Battery as my energy shield no longer prevents damage, but rather decreases as a result of casting a spell. Can you provide me a free passive skill tree point to reclaim this node? Can you suggest a different selection that may be more helpful for me? I am new and these passives clearly do not interact the way that I thought they would. Thank you again for your attention! |

It is confusing, but it is also consistent wording with all of the other sources of recharge started recently.
There are still ways to make it work with Eldritch Battery via Mind Over Matter or any sources of damage taken from mana and then not taking damage to let recharge start again. But it is not going to be worthwhile for your build. Also, none of us work for GGG so we don't have any of that power. |
