Trade system improvement
Hi guys,
playing for a long time to your game (beta player here) and still enjoying it, you definitively are doing a great job! There is only one big key issue I'd like you to think about. This is about trade system, totally outdated on my point of view. I absolutely understand you don't want to implement something complex that could also be exploited by some tier programs. But a few improvements could be nice. Considering: - trading does not really improve interactions between players - trading allows a lot of currency incomes and it is very frustrating for players not to sell items when doing some content that does not allow you to be interrupted, i.e. the current league mechanic, delve, heist... These are examples of content not allowing you to trade at the same time - frequently, some items exist but are not accessible because players are not connected So, I'd suggest some improvements here: - no need interaction between players: when a fixed price has been defined, any player can buy it at fixed price. This is just transferring one item from one stash to another - allow offline trading: item exists, price has been set by the player, so it is possible to buy it at the price defined by the player even if the player is offline. I guess you can manage this by dedicating a specific tab for this or just use the currency tab - force trading when a fixed price has been defined. It will avoid market manipulation by some players or malicious community Hope it can help a bit! Last bumped on Nov 1, 2023, 2:55:25 PM

i also think the person should be able to just get my items if they pay my set price for it. and more than that i hate paying their set price then waiting for half an hour or more for them to be able to / remember to go and click accept. i also think items that appear in the trade market should only be there for like 3 months. (only items that should show up are ones with a price, or symbol- representing taking offers). cause many of those items become stagnant and clutter the market; and this 'fall off the market' would allow players to repost or re-evaluate its worth.
forgive the unorganized ramblings of support to your thread. |

all the stuff you mentioned which could be "improved", is intentional.
having to be online for trading removes 2/3rds of the offers from the market all the time. they want you to play the game if you want to sell stuff. also there is no market for 99% of the junk on offer 2 weeks after the league started. not being to sell stuff while doing some content makes you think twice before you offer alot of low priced junk to others. you can do it but can't really play the game while being interrupted all the time. -- the issue is that they allow you alot of freedom, there are no hard caps on how many items you can put on the market, there are no fees for selling stuff, there are no limits how many items you can trade per day. -- the other way they could solve the issue of players selling too much items is: dropping less items. you can try ruthless mode, the economy is working pretty ok, items on sale you can afford don't spoil your progress, people respond immediately on purchase requests, there are very few fake sellers, if you sell, people always offer to wait until you finished your content.... age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

I've got a couple suggestions for improving trade which I guess I'll leave here.
obviously there's a certain amount of 'friction' inherent in any interaction and I can appreciate what it does for this game's economy, but I think we can reduce the number of listings that are no longer or were never intended to be honoured. 1. maybe single item listings should expire? players put an increasing amount of value on their time; a listing they made 11 days ago for 2c is no longer relevant or worthwhile and is needlessly wasting a player's time and contributing to potential frustrations just by existing. presumably a border could be put around expired items similar to the last item you were pm'd for through the trade site. 2. show the time a bulk listing has existed. this information seems to exist on the api but is not shown on the website, being able to see that the cheapest 10 listings have existed for 8 hours is invaluable and allows players to better identify exploitative listings and ignore them saving time and frustration. maybe add a filter for this metric. |

" Completely agreed. We don't need any changes to the trade platform. It's even better to make the trade harder, than easier. Richies want to be even more richier for the cost of other ppl game experience. I hope GGG won't make what topic starter wants. Last edited by cursorTarget#1174 on Oct 31, 2023, 2:26:28 PM

They have been perfectly clear and consistent that the trading system is the way it is by design. And yet, after years and years, somehow there are still people whining about it on the forums. I mean, the tenacity is impressive, but I just don't understand.

" Empty words with z weight. Explain how it is play with 0 sum. " So? 2/3rds removed and? So many questions, so few answers. " Okay. Can I play game while my magic clever stashGPT / hideoutt-E 5.0 selling my stuff. But I doubt you know for sure what they want. You know what image of them in your head wants, not them. " Time is limit. There is 24 h in a day. What freedom bruh. Take watch and count how long for 1 operation, take calculator and multiply time for 1 operation with quantity of operations. " What exactly is essence of issue? Stop repeating alien thoughts, try thinking with your brain. What's bad if players selling too much? Someone will die? Nobody dies? Or? Why resolve something that does not need resolving. Ok, ok. Let's think. To sell something you need someone on the other side who will buy it. Unless a central counterparty is on the other side (NPC vendor, clearing center whatever) you literraly can't sell too much. |

" It was already explained a lot, A LOT of times in different places. Begining from the Trade Manifesto in 2017 and in the relevant forum sections. If you were sleeping all this time, it's your fault. Read the forums before posting your assumpions. |
