Chance to Bleed Support and Shield Skills

Chance to Bleed Support's added physical damage does not work with shield skills because it says "with weapons.

The ascendancy that synergizes with shield skills is Gladiator due to the endurance charge on off hand kills from "Outmatch and Outlast" and other block based nodes. Gladiator is also the Bleed Ascendancy. It is unfortunate that chance to bleed doesn't work early to be used with Shield Crush and Blood Letting notable.

you name ONE possible synergy and claim its THE synergy. Literally ANY other ascendancy is better than Outmatch and Outlast for shield skills. And Gladiator has been a joke for blocking for many leagues now. In fact...if you are making a bleed shield gladiator, you shouldn't even be taking "outmatch and outlast": there are other, better sources of endurance charges.

Hell...its not even the best ascendancy of Duelist for shield-based skills. Both Champion and Slayer are better ascendancies offensively AND defensively, probably even with bleed builds (haven't made one in a while). But yes, you get bleedsplosions with Glad I guess, however you can just wear Haemophilia.


I suspect this particular line is restrictive because shield skills all have a scaling mechanism that doesn't exist for weapons: damage based off armour/es/eva. This makes their base power far exceed a weapon's output if both items were of corresponding power.

Take SST for example: @ lvl 20 you get a base 250 pdps PLUS an additional 800(!) base damage from a fairly cheap 2000 armor shield. A 2H weapon with comparable base damage stats is SIGNIFICANTLY harder to get. Plus you gain all the defensive benefits of using a shield.

Or you could actually be highlighting something that simply needs to be updated. But like your post on shockwave support...you do this in a REALLY weird and misleading way.
