Bane not applying Despair

Picked up the skill node "Whispers of Doom" to apply 2 hexes at once to mess around with buddy using fire and me using chaos as our major damage types. Using flammability hex for him and despair for myself. Was applying both hexes for a while then just randomly stopped applying despair. and only despair. tested moving around the hexes and bane in the 4 link armors I have, and also tried to use other hexes with despair but only despair will not apply at same time. looking at skills to put in quick slots and it shows other hexes as unusable because they are linked to ban but despair is still usable. came back online after 6ish hours and it worked for 5-10 mins then went back to not applying both again.

Bane has a level restriction when applying hexes linked to it (on the gem it says "Only applies Hexes from Curse Skill Gems requiring Level XYZ or lower").

This requirement goes up as the Bane gem levels up, but if your curse gems are also levelling up and going over that limit, then it will stop working until Bane catches up.

It sounds like your Despair gem is ahead of the others in experience. If you delay levelling it up until the others, then it should be fine.
