HoT Storm Secret Question

Does the "chance to avoid lightning damage from hits" essence mod mitigate any damage from the storm secret? I know the damage counts as a hit since I use it to proc CWDT. I'm just not sure how to even really test this without spending the currency to see if I feel any different in high level maps.

I have been looking for an answer on this for awhile.

Storm Secret hits you with lightning damage, you have a chance to avoid it with this mod.
Just in case, you don't take damage when avoid it, so CWDT won't proc.

Yeah not procing CWDT would be fine, it already procs more than enough, if it can help in the few circumstances where DOT along with storm secret are preventing me from regening es and thus cannot use any skills (I use EB).
