Rakiata's Dance + Eye of Malice Interaction
|
Hello there fellow Exiles,
I'm in a huge struggle here trying to understand how this items interact in between... So... here are my questions. I have been trying to build a Rakiata's dance cold flicker strike Raider. The build is currently in progress and it is something i made purely on my own with my limited understanding of the game... So... My first idea was to take the new sword, Rakiata's dance and try to buff the enemies arround me, Since Doryani's Prototype is not really an option mainly because i had to get 90% Light ress to really take profit of the effect and there is no easy way to do this unless you are stacking aura of effect. And also because you will be limited to only do lightning damage which i consider a huge disadventage AND on top of that it is a body armor so... can't use farrul fur for 100% uptime of maximum frenzy charges. So... The best i could think of was Eye of Malice BUT... i see a problem with this item aswel. Does Applying Elemental Exposure Lowers the resistences of the target? If so... When is this calculated? And how it works with Rakiata's dance... As far as my interpretation goes it should be something like this: Mob 0% Resist > Eye of Malice adds +50% > Rakiata's Inverts this into -50% But on Exposure: Mob 0% Resist > Eye of Malice adds +50% > Ele Exposure -25%> Rakiata's Inverts this into -25% How the whole interaction works out in general? Also... anyone has a better idea or any recommendations / honorable mentions on how to properly juice Rakiata's dance? Last bumped on Sep 19, 2023, 10:28:58 AM

Mob 0% Resist > Ele Exposure -25% > Eye of Malice adds +50% > Rakiata's Inverts this into +37%

Seems like Eye of Malice doesn't work the way you expected.
Eye of Malice does not give nearby monsters +50% cold and fire resists. Eye of Malice gives them 50% increased resistances. If they had 50% cold resist, Eye of Malice would increase that by 50% to 75% cold resist. If they had -50% cold resist, Eye of Malice would increase that by 50% to -75% cold resist. It increases the magnitude, the distance from zero, rather than making it more positive. This wording is similar to a small number of other uniques. A simple example is the Exarch staff, The Annihilating Light, which reduces your resists by 60-70%. The mechanic is the same: with no other modifiers, a 60% Annihilating Light would multiply your final resists by 0.4. 100% would become 40%, and -60% would become -24%. |

" Very wrong math The unique helmet is increase so that always diverge from zero This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. About the username: Did you know Kowloon Gundam is made in Neo Hong Kong?

Also the wiki article about the item is getting really messy . I have no idea whst monster side and player side were talking about.
Exposure is a kind of -x to res but and then the next paragraph then state it is a player side mod so that not affect by the helmet 's increase. The only chance to check is PvP with expsure gear and -x res mod items. This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. Small update on the Topic thanks for the help guys and also thanking Zizaran and Aer0 for helping me out to update the build.
Turns out Eye of Malice is not the best option at all for rakiata's dance, turning the Resistances into a -10% to -25% damage loss almost instantly. The better solution was to add a Brutal Restraint and allocate Dance With Death in order to gain more DPS out of Rakiata's dance and Lightning damage in general, Also goes along well with the Ammount of Crit Multiplyer i'm stacking. Only disadventage is that this removes the helm slot so... without a Mageblood the build is compleatly glass cannon, Fortunally... Mageblood exists and i seem to patch this minnor inconvinences by making use of the Armor and Evasion Mastery that provides additional Evasion based on your current number of frenzy charges. Stacking up to 70k Evasion and 20k Armor just from the mageblood flasks and the charges w/ the mastery and overall general tree. Also... As their crit chance is lucky im exploring several other defensive options such as wind dancer and probably the Critical Mastery that makes you take less damage from Crits. I'm soon going to add Omniscience / Ashses of the stars to The build which is still in progress so... Any recommendations will be highly appreciated. |

" What is wrong? Mob 0% Resist (current res 0%) > Ele Exposure -25% (current res -25%)> Eye of Malice adds +50% inc (current res -37%) > Rakiata's Inverts (current res +37%) But I didn't check if he has -25% exposure (default -10%). " Yes, it’s not entirely clear, perhaps it simply means that the helmet mod only affects the enemy’s final resistance after all calculations of debuffs, and not on each debuff separately. You use the word +50% not increase (*1.5).....

" But math is correct. I just copied a line from a previous post. I know how Eye of Malice works. Last edited by seaman#4993 on Sep 18, 2023, 6:13:29 PM

you need elemental equilibrium for a rakiatas dance, eye of malice build.
