Strength of Blood Keystone

i dont quite understand how strength of blood works.

i have 0.5% of attack dmg leeched as life and 160% increased maximum total life recovery per second from leech.

according to pob this should give me 34% phys dr with the strength of blood keystone. inc max total life rec per sec is the only mod that increases the phys dr from the strength of blood keystone according to pob.

my questions are:
does the phys dr only apply while im hitting an enemy hence during the leech duration?
if so, how long is the leech duration after i stop hitting? is it 5 sec or is it longer cause of the additional 160% max leech mod that i have? do i keep the phys dr during the leech duration after i stop hitting or do i only have phys dr while hitting?
would it matter if i had 2% of atk dmg leeched as life, since this is the cap i believe?

Max total life recovery per second modifies the percent of total life you can leech back per second. It does not change the duration of the leech instance.

The reduction only applies while you have the leech active. If you do not have Slayer leech, then your leech shuts off the instant you are full life.
it only works while you're leeching. if you don't have overleech via slayer ascendancy, soul tether, offering to the serpent or petrified blood, you'll lose pdr the moment your life reaches full

- Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades)
sounds like its not worth using it as a jugg with trauma support and untiring unless i have a source of overleech.
otherwise id only have phys dr while hitting. thats not enough to be worth it, right?
If you use Petrified Blood and reserve no more than 49% of your life, you will have the equivalent of Slayer leech, which would mean it is up as long as you have leech instances.
im in hardcore. i already have like 4 or 4.2k unreserved life with that build. with petrified blood id have 2k life. thats super scary.

idk if strength of blood is worth it for the trauma self mitigation even without overleech

well if i take the 55% low life mastery i would be fine with 54% life, but thats still like less than 2.2k life

Soultether or the serpent gloves are probably the better options compared to PB. PB doesn't make much difference when it comes to hit damage but with just 2k life your reaction window against dots will be really small.
the question is do i even need the overleech. the other question is, is it really worth using strength of blood? i dont see anyone else using it on glacial hammer trauma jugg

If you want to use strength of blood then yes, i'd say you need overleech otherwise your uptime on it will be lousy. As for whether you should use it, i'd say no. Your build isn't really suited for it, there are better options available.
