Cross Contamination, Possessed map boss while in a Ritual

I killed a possessed Dunes boss with the map mod that spawns them possessed while in a ritual circle in the boss area. Did that ritual and the boss spawned in it not possessed. Is this how it normally is or is it a bug ?

That might be a solution, but iv done all the other ritual challengews without seeing one of them. But my issue is that it should have worked the way i did it but it did not.
