Extreme archeology node doesn't always work

I've taken the atlas node and it worked OK up until a specific map, where it didn't. It offered me 5 explosives instead of a single one on this map.

I've done a few yesterday so could have been. Is that node not supposed to work on Kirac missions? Or is this a known issue already?

Atlas passives do not affect Kirac missions.
