I have to invest heavily in defense only to be oneshot by random bullshit anyway - but hey! If only I had virtual "immune to 99% of DMG because you are melee" just like any ranged character has...
I don't want to complain, I knew what I was getting myself into, but being aware that I could just roll lightning arrow deadeye like the other 50% of players and faceroll the whole game with a random garbage I found under a rock in a mud flats makes me feel... stupid. On a level 82 jug you have the following stats:
![]() Not capped on resist. Not enough life. Not enough armour. You can argue you can get away with that on a ranged char. But i advise you to try that on hardcore. Lol not even the flasks are rolled :D With this gear you would have died several times no matter what skill you use.

I expected to quit this league the first weekend so I picked a melee league starter using the new Trauma Support to play - Glacial Hammer jugg w/Frostbreath.
It was just as abysmal as I thought it would be. I feel bad for any new player who was recommended this build by major streamers. Complete bait and the only really fun thing about it is watching the ancestral call hits go off on trash. I've never played a worse build before. Damage was bad until Heatshiver and Yoke, and barely passable after that. With the same investment any totem build would do double or more the damage with better QoL. Lightning Arrow would do similar single target damage but have absolutely insane quality of life and clear speed over it. My plans to quit the league were dashed because GGG rewarded me for playing this garbage build by having quest Eater drop me Ashes. Now I feel obligated to reroll and try to learn the league mechanic. If all melee skills had the base buff of level 20 ancestral warchief and level 20 ancestral protector baked in then I would say it would be worthwhile to play melee. Otherwise it's just better to play melee in any other video game where it's more fun and rewarding. |

As a Jugg you have an easy access to high armour and very high elemental damage reduction: - get all max ress to ~80-82 (easy to do with passives around Jugg area) - CAP resistances (having uncapped LR is just asking to get 1shotted) - 3k life on 80+ is very low. I had this in act9 already. Aim for 5k - get more armour. Aim to get at least 40k (quite easy with flasks, determination and armour based gear) Get these 3 things sorted and You'll die less. |

I'm pretty happy with my old cyclone jaggernaut. Can't be stunned, can't be frozen, seems to be not affected by bleeding and bad blood. Tons of life leach and regen. His health rarely dropping at all on whight and yellow maps.
The only real dunger is bad cases of corpse explosion. |
