Heatshiver freeze/damage application question
So I'm using Heatshiver for a cold snap ignite Elementalist utilizing Shaper of flames.
The question is when the +100% added cold to fire damage from Heathshiver applied - is it before the freeze is applied or after? Can I hit the enemy once - apply freeze and add the fire damage so my shaper of flames bonus damage procs, since my dominant damage becomes fire. Or do I need to hit the enemy twice - once to freeze him and then hit it again when my dominant damage becomes fire - this will force me to use cold to fire to proc the Shaper of flames bonus damage. Freeze applies after you hit, damage conversion and gain extra apply before you hit. So yes, you need 2 hits. I don't follow cold to fire thing, your fire damage should become dominant on second hit since 100% extra fire kicks in, like you described in "I hit the enemy once" scenario.

" Sorry, I meant I need to use the cold to fire support gem on cold snap if I want to proc the shaper of flames, but this won't proc the 100% added damage on the first hit. Thanks for the info! Last edited by ire_of_desire2#2928 on Aug 22, 2023, 4:11:08 AM
