Chieftain's Tawhoa's Chosen - Duration of mirages is static, despite changes to tooltip

Testing conditions:

Use static strike while having Chieftain's Tawhoa's Chosen allocated. The mirage persists for 3 seconds at base, as per the tooltip.

Next, allocate increased duration on the tree. Expected outcome for one wheel + mastery is a 4.785 second duration, which the tooltip displays. Observed outcome is that they still last for 3 seconds, timed by my own static strike having several seconds remaining after the mirage despawns.

This problem was since GGG made this node. But nobody cared, because 0,0℅ used it)
Can also confirm that duration is not working properly with Tawhoa Mirage Chieftains.
I can confirm this behaviour as well. My expectation was that the lingering static strike effect would stay longer.

After fiddling around with it I do wonder though that this is just working as intended. I've had instances where a mirage spawned (via leap slam) but no enemy was near and I think the mirage lasted longer than the 3s baseline frantically searching for something to hit. So the mirage duration does increase if that is correct. Furthermore what is happening is that the mirage warrior doesn't inherit the increased duration modifier from the player and thus the mirages static strike only lasts 3s. Which kinda makes sense since the mirage (as witnessed in game and per tooltip) despawns as soon as it executes the one attack leaving behind the lingering static strike beams for 3s.

In theory, we can somehow summon bunch of marriage warriors, who don't have a target before boss fight?
