Help Please - Trinity not processing

Hello,
I can't seem to get the gem to work for me.

As I understand it, Trinity gains resonance if the greatest damage from a hit is elemental. It gains resonance for the other two elements (lower 2).

So My main character EDThrip is using frostblades that has cold damage easily highest. I see resonance for Fire and Lightning fill up.

I try to do flame dash which has fire as the highest elemental damage, but I'm not seeing cold gain any resonance and therefore I can't trigger the gem.

I'm confused what I'm doing wrong. I've tried also adding a physical to lightning support to my whirling blades that has lightning highest, but I can't seem to get the gem to work (due to cold not gaining resonance).

I thought maybe since Flamedash is a spell, it's not a skill that hits? Is that true of whirling blades too? If so, what are the easiest hit skills to use that won't be just solid cold damage from my passive tree?

Profile is now public for characters. I'm guessing the other skills need to be linked to trinity as well. Can you use 2 Trinity support or does it have to be the same 1?

Thanks Seaman. I appreciate the responses. I finally got it to work linking my flame dash to a 2nd trinity. Much better. Total brain fog to miss that other skills I was using needed to be linked to Trinity.

Wondering why my frost blades doesn’t trigger it automatically since I have both fire and lightning on my claw but cold is by far the highest element. I can live with this workaround.

You need fire or lightning to sometimes be the highest damage hit.

If your skill does 5000-10000 cold damage, 3000-4000 lightning damage, and 3000-4000 fire damage trinity will never fill up because even if cold low rolls to a 5000 damage hit it will always be higher than the 4000 hit high roll of the others.
