Vortex and "Modifiers to Spell Damage"

Hi everyone,

Question is about wording of VORTEX gem:

--Modifiers to Spell Damage apply to this Skill's Damage Over Time effect.--

Does that mean that only those modifiers that specifically call out "Spell Damage" (such as from the Arcanist's Dominion node) apply in that way then?

Or is it generally any modifier that can alter Vortex's spell damage? Such as the "Divine Judgement" node that increases Elemental Damage and would thus also alter Vortex's Cold Damage. Or the "Retribution" node that has a generic "15% increased damage" effect?

Or, to phrase it a bit less clunky: What qualifies as a "Modifier to Spell Damage" in the Vortex skill gem context?

Any help with this is appreciated. Thank you!

Spell damage normally only effects hits. This allows spell damage to scale the DoT damage along with things like elemental damage increases and cold damage increases (cold and elemental damage do not need this wording though, they would scale the damage without it)

So yes anything that says increased spell damage will increase the DoT.

As an aside this is why things like RF and ignite do not benefit from increases to spell damage.

Thank you!

So just for clarification: all three tree nodes I mentioned above will affect the DOT portion of the VORTEX damage then, correct?
Correct.

PoB is also a good quick way to confirm it if you are ever in doubt.
Perfect. Again, appreciate your help. :-)
