Ruthless - Nerfing Ascendancies and build variety

I get it, Ruthless is supposed to be hard. It is.
So no one expected to get 2 more Ascendancy points just like that. But nerfing almost all other existing Ascendancy nodes in the game in the process is not only overdoing it but also further reducing build viability. Due to its difficulty, Ruthless already has a significantly lower build variety than normal mode. Some of the currently viable builds do depend on having those "normal" Ascendancy nodes available. So without them, I do expect some builds to become unviable. Is that the future vision for Ruthless? Everyone limited to picking from a smaller and smaller pool of viable builds???
