Impale needs a support gem for Spells

I am basing this off of the entropic devastation gloves.

It's interesting that you can use the gloves to Grant impale to spells and also call of Steel.

But that alone I don't think would allow for a different type of build to take advantage.

Might I suggest a Cast on Call of Steel support gem?

Something that casts an attached spell whenever you recall the impales.

If there needs to be a balance to that, then some ideas can be either limiting it to when call of Steel is activated after another spell is cast, or activating the attached spell every second or third time call of Steel is activated, or simply reducing the amount of damage on hit from the attached spell.

I think that could enable some new builds in conjunction with the gloves.

The sandstorm helmet will bring back more entropic devastation builds.

Spellcasters have plenty of ways to be op. This is a sure fire way to get impale nerfed and melee doesn't need more slaps in the face caused by ranged characters abusing their skills. (fortify) for example

The Sandstorm helmet doesn't act as a build enabler. If it was going to bring back more entropic devastation builds, it would have done so already back in Sanctum league, and it didn't. It coming back isn't going to do much for build-enabling - it has stronger synergies with Marylene's Fallacy and items like Trypanon.

Honest, this sounds more like you're mad and want to punish spellcasters for the neglect melee has gotten, whereas all I am doing is looking at something that could make for a cool interaction and create a new style of build in the game...

Pure phys spells aren't particularly strong though and impale has loads of drawbacks.

I'll put it like this, the gloves already let you play spell impale for a single item slot and they already don't set the world on fire. Giving access to spell impale more easily won't cause any problems right now unless they start sticking impale effect everywhere.
