Should i wait for the next league?

Hey, I am a really new player. I have some questions about league.

First of all, there is about two weeks for new league. I just started playing a character in league mode. Should i continue? I've done some reading about what will happen when the league ends but am not crystal clear about that.

Should a new player (who will play like 1 hour a day) play in league? If yes: Should I just wait for the new league?

If no: What are the downsides of playing in standart? Can i follow a guide and do the same build?

After current league end (crucible) all your stuff and characters go to Standard server.

Standard server is the same as league except for missing league content. So in standard you will just not find these lava fountains.

What are the downsides of playing in standart?

You will not have access to league content (no ancestor tournament)

Yes, monsters and maps and skills balance are the same in standard and in leagues (except for league mechanics specific stuff that is missing on standard).

I would not care about playtime per day. League is usually 4 months long and that is a lot of days.

You can play current character for the next week and start new character on new league so you will have more knowledge about the game in new league and you might want to try out new build to enjoy. If you will not like leveling new character you will be able to go back to current character as it will still be available on standarad server.
