Rain of Arrows + Ballista support + Farshot = ??? my head hurts ???

How does Far Shot interact with Rain of Arrows if it is used by a Ballista Totem?

When it is used this way the Rain of Arrows acts as if you were wearing the ring "Astral Projector" and can cast the sequences away from the Ballista.

The Rain no longer originates from the player either, so where does the damage scaling begin and end?

Do the arrows always benefit fully due to rising and falling their maximum distance?

To my understanding, Rain of Arrows when self-cast will scale Farshot by having the farthest arrows from the player benefit the most.

I think this build I've been working on is a lot of fun and could help others enjoy it as well if I can nail down the mechanics.

This is a complicated, multi-stage question and I understand how busy everything is right now (WOOOOO EXILECON WOOOOO 3.22).

POB does not account for distance traveled mechanics and I am unfortunately unable to rely on it for this query, could you please help me find the answer?

Farshot works based on total distance traveled by the skill. If the wiki is to be believed then how far the skill travels from its start point (totems in this case) to its end point will determine the farshot damage multiplier (or penalty).

Unless I have some misunderstanding of the far shot wiki which I dont think I do.

Yellow line = Farshot scaling

POE builds subreddit cooked this up for me when I posed the same question, I think it clarified the interaction for me!

That looks correct to me.
