I can't launch the game since today's patch (SSL connect error while ...)

I can't launch the game since today's patch.
The patch can't dowload/install.

The patcher give me error :
Error: SSL connect error while downloading https://patch.poecdn.com/3.21.2.1.2/PathofExile.exe


Tested :
- restarted the pc : not helped
- exit/... discord : i don't have and never installed it on my pc
- manually downloaded pathofexile.exe with my navigator (https://patch.poecdn.com/3.21.2.1.2/PathOfExile.exe) and manually change it in my ggg/poe's foler : the patch process seemed to go one step further and showed me another error window with just another patch file ... (but still same ssl error).
Gone back to th original pathofexile.exe, initial error, ofc.

OS : win10 x64 updated
GPU : 1070 with updated driver two days ago
AV : win defender AV
No overclock and overlay stuff installed.

Played fine since a decade. Played fine yesterday.

What to do/try next ?

PS :
I just noted that the client tried to write files in C:\windows\system32 (content.ggpk, pathofexile.tmp and logs).
Il think it's the first time the poe client needs to write in windows's system folder.

I remember that once happen to me. Try to completely delete poe directory. Also clear cashe from C:\ProgramData\Path of Exile.

There is no cach in C:\ProgramData\Path of Exile on my system.
Caches are in usual places for poe, but i've already flushed every usual things.

Completely delete poe directory is a pretty bad uninstall ... and erases poe exe files ... better to properly uninstall poe if i'd like to go that road and re-download 40Go of data.
The error msg does not indicates something related to files on my pc. I'd try uninstall/re-install only if desperate.

I tried to patch the game today because of the new update. Get the same error message.

Desperate time, i have properly uninstalled the game then dowloaded the poe's installer from ggg's website and tried to install the game to test a fresh start.

Same error again, same info in log files. The PathOfExile.exe starts then tries to dowload stuff (yeah, firewall is ok) and stop for the same reason.
So, i'm totally out of poe right now, can't even enjoy the new disco lightning technology.

System info :
OS : win10 x64 updated
GPU : 1070 with updated driver 3 days ago
CPU : I7-3770K
RAM : 16Go
System and PoE (when installed) on a SATA SSD.
AV : windows defender AV
No overclock and overlay stuff installed.

I am in France and i don't use a VPN or other proxy tech currently.
I Didn't try a VPN for my current problem, never need one to install/update/play poe ...
I have no info about poe french player about a specific problem regarding internet/vpn for poe.

Furthermore, i can manually download in my web browser the first file that the poe installer try to download (https://patch.poecdn.com/3.21.2.1.4/PathOfExile.exe). So, i think it's not a pure network or localization country (IP, ...) problem.

And i can even execute that spécific file (just another downloader/installer) and it can goes a bit further with same sort of logs but can't download anything at the end :

I've found what's going on when i've cheked the windows system logs : it showed me some errors about a certificate check (about poecdn).
"Le certificat reçu du serveur distant n'a pas été validé correctement. Le code d'erreur est 0x80092013. Échec de la demande de connexion TLS. Les données associées contiennent le certificat de serveur.

when the poe client has to connect in tls to its poecdn, windows must verify in its local base the validity of the certif authority used for the certif.
If the authority is not in local base then explorer.exe or lsass.exe must connect to some microsoft related base on internet and validate or not the certif authority (and put it in the local base). I had to let these exe go once to internet to get that update. I suppose authority/certif used by ggg has changed behind the scene few days ago.
Now the tls connection to poecdn is ok trought installer and windows, the game is re-installed and i can play the game with the new massive stutter engine.
The video config "no vsync + 60fps caps + medium textures quality" helps a lot, but not as smooth as the game one week ago.

I just started getting this problem tonight 30min to ~1 hour ago during the "The Realm is Restarting"

now? just hard stops while downloading new files. sometimes will download one or two but errors out eventually. it does seem like a bad certificate somewhere.

Indeed, seems the exact same problem (error message, error code, certif poecdn).

Check your windows firewall and make sure you allow explorer.exe and lsass.exe to go on internet (tcp/80 and tcp/443 + dns access) before you execute poe.

Free to you to let these internet access or not once the poe update has properly finished.

It has made the trick for me.
