Question about betrayal
|
When advancing to the top safehouse (mastermind?), I'm unsure how all the people in the chains below work. I'll link a screenshot of mine as it is right now.
Do I only get the rewards from the characters at the top in each safehouse, or do I get them from everyone in each house? IE: I have Aisling at the top of Research, with Vorici and Leo right below. Will I get both crafting options from Aisling AND Vorici? ![]() IGN: Bahnzo <--- that should find me. When doing a safegouse you get the reward for everyone inside. The leader then goes to jail for Mastermind experience.
When fighting Catarina, you get everyone at +1 level. Most your other complexities were done away with after Betrayal league. |

To go into this with a bit more detail;
When you do a Betrayal mission (i.e Jun appears in a map, either by chance, or because you activated a mission via the Altas Device), Intervention and Research will appear, as well as Transportation or Fortification at random. One member will lead the effort for their department in that map, and may be joined by a random non-leader, the leader, a Friend and a Rival (the rival is sorta helping you, but can also hurt you). Any number of these may happen, so well rolled, you can have up to four people show up. Once the 'core' member (i.e the person you initially encountered who is leading those local efforts) dies, a clock will start for the others to withdraw, so if you're aming to hit as many as you can, and are not just nuking them in a blink, it can be of value if you can keep them a bit more even in health (Rikker is always my bane for this, as he likes to operate at the edges of the screen, and often runs away before I really realize he's there and still at full). Each disabled member you'll either be able to imprison and get intelligence for (and causing them to lose a rank), kill them, or they'll offer some sort of a deal. Note that generally the last man standing will always offer a deal, while excute often the second option while there are more then one members still pending. You can shop around and talk to each member there to see what they're offering before making a choice (and everyone will check to see if they change their tune after every choice you make, so it can pay to check each person after each choice). Killing them increases their rank (thus the pay out at the end), and grants them items that will make future encounters harder. Meanwhile deals have a wide range of effects, moving ranks, departments, throwing out leaders, getting big intel, offering up items of value, etc. Any member who loses all ranks is cut loose, and becomes a free agent again, and can show up randomly to any event (sometimes even in the same map), hoping to get a lasting assignment. Likewise any time someone without a rank is folded into a department for any reason (i.e you made a deal that moved someone from being a free agent into a department), they'll automatically gain rank 1 in that area. After you get 100 Intel in a department, you can raid it, in which EVERY member will show up (starting with the leader), and you will always take the leader captive (no deals). The others who show up will always fight to the death. Once the fight is over, the department hideout will have a room for each member who was in the department, with rewards themed to them (If you want to know who gives what, take a look at the wiki, there's a lot of good images out there that break it down, or send me a PM). Each captured depatment head will give intell on the Mastermind. Once you have the Mastermind track maxed out, you can do the final raid. Howeever, this will wait until you're ready and you can do Jun missions to your hearts content to try and get people where you want them if you'd like (or max out their ranks). Once you do the raid, you'll do a boss, followed by a long hall fight, followed by a complicated boss (if you want details and how too's again, ether visit the wiki or PM me). In this fight, each department head will show up to help during the last leg of the fight. Then once finally won, you'll have access to their head quarters, which will have a room for EVERY current member of the syndicate, each of which is more rewarding the higher rank they where when you did the raid (Department Heads get an extra bonus, acting as though they where a rank higher than they where, even counting as rank 4's). Other than the strongboxes, there are no enemies here, and there is a stash here so you can deposit the vast amount of stuff you'll get. Some of course reward wierd stuff you may need to look up to understand (like Trapped Stash or Tiny's Trial), but the 'valuable' stuff by most reconing is pretty straight forward (white sockets, tons of raw items, etc). Hopefully this long form explainer helps as well! |

Thanks, I wish that was something I'd have read awhile ago.
My real issues was wondering who shows up after the mastermind fight, and the short answer is: everyone you have in each department. I had originally thought only the "leader" of each department was whom you received the rewards for. But of course that's wrong. Really a nice part of the game for me. I enjoy crafting my own equipment, so getting the crafting benches is a main goal. IGN: Bahnzo <--- that should find me.
