What is a skeleton "soldier"?

I noticed that The Iron Mass says it does stuff with Skeleton Warriors and Soldiers. Summoned Skeletons says it summons "warriors" and so does the vaal version. I've tried googling it but I can't find where a skeleton "soldier" comes from.

I think it's melee skeletons from the Vaal Summon Skeletons

There is another type of skeleton minion which is the ranged version, I believe it is called skeleton mage
