The Tags for Skills that Minions Use, Could Use an Update, for the User's Sake.

Hey GGG!

Would it be possible for someone to go through, and update, the tags of the skills that each minion skill uses? (Not minion skill gems themselves (though, that'd be awesome too) but the tags of the skills each minion uses.)

Honestly, it'd be awesome if the tags of the skills that minions used were in the game itself, but that's another conversation for another time (PoE 2?).

The current conundrum for the user is three-fold:

1) The user, for the most part, isn't in control of how often/when a minion uses their skills. (Understandable.)
2) When using the in-game resource that shows users which supports work with which socketed active skills (via the checkmark or "x" when being rewarded or purchasing a gem), users aren't sure if the highlighted support works with all skills the minion uses, and if not all, they aren't told which skills the minion uses are supported by the highlighted support.
3) According to the resources available to users (PoEDB, PoB, etc.), the in-game visuals of certain skills that minions use, don't match what a user would assume to be an obvious support.

(Keep in mind, users only have resources that the community makes (from gleaning your files), and what you provide in-game.)

There are many minions in the game that use multiple skills (Zombies, the Reaper, Golems, Specters (yikes!)), but here are two examples:

Zombies
Zombies have a Default Attack and Zombie Slam. The skill gem itself says that the Default Attack is a Melee Attack. Apparently, the Default Attack is also a Strike skill because Behead Support shows a green checkmark beside Raise Zombies in-game. But that starts to introduce part of the issue. The Zombie Slam is assumably a Slam, which is not a Strike, yet Behead Support shows a green checkmark for Raise Zombies. Even though this issue might be easy to figure out since the Zombie has only two skills, it's still a conflict the game encourages.

This is where it starts to hurt the user though, and in this case, Raise Zombie is a simple skill. To stay with Zombies, apparently, the Zombie Slam doesn't have a Melee tag. It's an Attack and a Slam; not a melee skill. So something like Melee Physical Support is wasted on the Zombie Slam. To the user, when they see the zombies slam in the game, it looks Melee. To the user, what else would it be? It looks like a melee slam, like the other melee slams in the game. Plus, the game tells the user, with a green checkmark, that Melee supports work with the Raise Zombie skill gem because Melee supports work with the Default Attack the zombies do. So now the issue begins to take on a bigger light.

Reaper
If you look at the Reaper, the issue becomes much bigger as this minion has many different skills to pick from. Many of the skills are considered Attacks but only one or two of them actually have the Melee tag. So the game will show that all Melee-specific supports will work with the Reaper, when in fact, very few of the Reaper's skills will be impacted by Melee supports. The same goes for the Reaper's Combo Whirl; it doesn't have an AoE tag? How does every skill the Reaper uses not have an AoE tag? In-game, the visuals are very AoE.

The user has little to no control over which skills their minions will use, yet the user has to pick which skill the minion uses to focus their investment on (as the tags for the minion's skills often oppose each other), and the user isn't even sure what the tags are of that minion's skill that they want to focus on.

Anyway, I assume it's a big task, but my suggestion in this Suggestion Forum is that someone goes through every skill each minion uses and checks to make sure all their skills are properly tagged.

My second suggestion is to have the tags of skills that minions use, in the game somewhere. That way the "help section" (when buying gems) would truly help users select relevant gems for their minions. (PoE 2?) That would be a fantastic QoL improvement for minion players!

Thanks for your time, GGG. Hopefully, the next few months go by nice and smooth for you all.

yes to all of that.

List the skills, cooldowns, and tags that each minion uses. Have the tags be affected by supports just like player skills. Give us some kind of damage numbers for the skills. Something that tells us what the minion is actually doing...

Such a basic need.

It's almost like all the minion gems are stuck in some alternate world where GGG wants only minion-specific buffs to be applicable. When this was never the case...
