Is there a way to know what killed you?
|
Most games I play have a combat chat tab that shows what's happening in combat. If I die, I can look to see that I took "3124 Lightning damage from Foozle". Is there a comparable way in this game to know what killed you?
My wife is playing CI Vortex Occultist, and occasionally deep in Delves she will run into a situation where she is degenerating rapidly and of course she has no life flasks, so she doesn't know how to stop the degen, and we don't know what it was that was hurting her. It's obviously not Chaos, I'm wondering if it's some kind of corrupted blood or some other type of degen? How do you guys handle a situation like this? I suggested that she make a flask that removes curses in case that's what's happening, but are there other ideas for how to deal with this situation? Thanks for any insights or suggestions. Paying close attention to what monsters you are fighting and what they are doing is one way. There are situations where it's really hard to tell but most of the time it's easy to figure out what does what if you pay close attention instead of admiring all the beautiful colors.
Another would be to run some kind of vid recording programm while playing. If you die you can check the video and see what happened. Sadly, there is no ingame death log, the technology simply isn't there yet in new zealand and i wouldn't hold my horses waiting for it. GGGs statements on that front don't give much reason to be hopeful. |

Ok, thanks guys. Maybe a death log will be added in PoE2. Until then, I made my wife a couple of Sulphur flasks that gain recharges on hit, so she can at least disengage, create some consecrated ground (she has Zealot's Oath) and maybe stop the regen, whatever is causing it.

Dead is dead. It doesnt matter. 99% of the time it's an accumulation of shite, and what delivered the finishing blow is mostly irrelevant.

Use instilling orbs to craft your flasks to use when full. that might help in delve not sure what's doing the killing but that might help some to increase survivability.
Just happen to notice your characters don't have any flasks automated is that the same case with your wife? -Official Forum Dweller- -I started the hoho comment- -Exploit Early - Exploit Often- -(Async Trade Announcement) Enjoy the bots- Last edited by xPiranha#4678 on May 23, 2023, 3:28:42 PM

Since you are pointing out delve specifically could it be the darkness degen? Some mobs will temporarily turn the lights off on you and cause you to degen if do not have a source of life gained on hit or drop a flare.
