Echoing shrine + channeling skills

So, I have a quick question. If channeling skills can't be used with spell echo, because as wiki states -

because they operate in continuous fashion while they are being channelled; they do not consist of discrete attacks or casts that can be repeated

, then why can they work with echoing shrines (the ones which make your skills repeat)? Can't they just tweak spell echo to work with channeling skills then, if the functionality to repeat channeling skills is already there, and it's working? Or is how echoing shrine works is THAT different from repeat gained from spell echo support that it somehow can't be reproduced in support gem form.

Echoing shrine also works on attacks so it is quite different.
Could they make spell echo work on channeling skills? I'm sure they could. They most likely don't want it to work with channeling skills.

And that's what's most annoying about that, considering channeling skills already fell quite left out (even though we have CwC). That's why I wish that atleast they'd just state that they just don't want to do this.

Echoing Shrine has 3 parts. 100% more attack speed. 100% more cast speed. Skills repeat an additional time. Channeled skills only get the 100% more attack/cast speed because, just as with Spell Echo and its sibling Multistrike, there's nothing to repeat. They are just 1 continuous attack/cast that lasts until released or interrupted in some way.

Actually you might be right, I never knew about "cast speed" modifier, so that would make sense on why my storm burst was producing 2x amount of orbs. That's probably it then, damn, shame then, thought that channeling repeat was available in some way (which would also make it possible to implement as support).
