Converting maps in standard

So I just converted several remove only map tabs in standard only to find that most were converted to a handful of specific maps - namely Arsenal, Coves, Dig, and Volcano, nearly filling up all of these map slots for my T16 maps. Why these particular ones? I learned my lesson and will not be converting older maps any more, atlas impacts or not. Is there a way to deterministically have these maps convert to others? I don't have a desire to run 100 of any of these maps.

Legacy maps are converted to the new atlas setup.
So if you have 10 differant LEGACY T16 maps then these will be converted to the 4 NATIVE T16 atlas maps in the current atlas.
This is how it has been in standard for many years now.
if you have 4 watchstones it should randomize imo

sadly not. Maps are converted into their native atlas tiers.

Sadly this is yet another idiotic aspect of the game.

For what it's worth, you can run legacy maps with eater/exarch/maven influence and your atlas tree applying as long as your legacy map is currently in the map pool i.e it's present on the atlas. They will behave just like current maps in that case so there is no real need to convert them anymore.
